It is known that gardening and activities related to working on the land have a useful and multiple beneficial effect on children’s mental health and encourage the creation of a positive mood. Therefore, on the occasion of the International Garden Day, pupils from the “Braća Jezerčić” Elementary School in Divičani near Jajce removed weeds and planted flowers that will beautify the classrooms and school environment. By working in the garden, they learned about ways to grow plants and strengthened their motor and social skills. This activity also stimulated their imagination and experimentation with new ideas for arranging public spaces, and raised awareness of their role in preserving the environment. Thirty-eight pupils participated in this activity, which was held on June 11, 2025, while the local coordinators were teachers Julijana Glavaš, Vesna Ladan and Matijana Šimunović.
This activity was implemented within the project “Reconciliation Through Dialogue and Joint Activities in the Local Communities in BiH”, which is financially supported by the German Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
