On June 4, 2024, the students and teachers of the “NORDBAT-2” mixed high school in Vareš organized and implemented a workshop on the occasion of “World Environment Protection Day”.
The goal of celebrating this date is to make young people aware of how important it is to protect our environment and nature itself. Through the discussion and raising awareness of the students about this issue, and by organizing the cleaning of the environment where the students live, an excellent example was given of how something can be done to protect and preserve our environment.
Students and teachers reacted positively to the workshop and to the way of marking this important date. After the discussion, and cleaning the yard and the surroundings where the students stay, a light snack was prepared for them. Twenty two students and three teachers participated in this activity.
This activity was implemented within the project “Towards Reconciliation and Sustainable Peace through Interethnic Dialogue and Practice”, which is financially supported by the German Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
